Battles for playoffs qualification still go and Spartak after loss in Riga needed to grab some points in game against Ak Bars. Kazan team played at our venue two games in a row hosted by different hockey clubs. Coaches made some changes in a lineup, young forward Andrei Legalin for a first time dressed for KHL game.

It was an equal first two periods where we outshouted the opponent, but it was 0-2 at scoreboard for Ak Bars. Their players were effectively in finishing the opportunities. It seemed that the game was finished after six minutes of third stage. 0-4 against champion. However, Spartak had the opportunities all the game and team needed just one goal to feel the confidence.

Was it missed shot or pass from Artyom Fyodorov but Alexander Khokhlachyov used it to finally put the puck into the net. It was a real boost for Red-Whites troops. Import line battled hard in enemy waters and Kaspars Daugavins used the beauty pass from Robin Hanzl to cut the lead. 19 seconds later, our captain Anatoly Nikontsev with a great wrister made it 3-4. One minute left to go, we got a power play but only conceded an empty-netter.
