Three-point night for Zubov
Spartak defeated Dynamo in the fourth game of the series thanks to outstanding performance by Ilya Zubov.

For the fourth game of the series coaches made several changes. Oleg Znarok used a defenseman Tobias Viklund who missed last games due to injury, he was paired with Patrik Hersley. Pavel Khomchenko was in the roster as backup goalie.

Teams started to play aggressively from first shifts. Our special teams started to play better and better. In the middle of the first we got our powerplay chance that ended with Artyom Fyodorov finish. In two minutes long-distance shot from Ilya Zubov reached the net after deflection from their defenseman Andrei Mironov.

The second frame started with two penalties from our side which we successfully survived. Then we used our chance. Kaspars Daugavins was first on the rebound after Ilya Zubov’s shot. Zubov earned the third point of the night.

Discipline was a big problem for Red-Whites in the third period. We got three straight minor penalties and conceded a puck in one of them when Dynamo’s captain Vadim Shipachyov beat Bespalov. In the end we did not use our chance in double powerplay. Anyway, Spartak took two wins at home and the series return to Dynamo arena where we will start like ‘best-of-three’ series.
