In first game after the break Spartak faced with Metallurg Magnitogorsk. The last part of the season is starting now. Before the Euro Hockey Tour Spartak twice lost at home ice with 0 goals in both games. Our team was still in position of getting to playoffs.

Metallurg started better and had a power play chance in first of the frame of the game. In the beginning of the next period Bogdan Potekhin opened the scoreboard after broken stick of Maxim Goncharov. Later Magnitka scored on the powerplay and Goncharov got game misconduct penalty for arguing with officials.

Our team did not give up and Robin Hanzl buried the puck in front of the net. Our captain Anatoly Nikontsev who set the new record in games for our club in KHL era, assisted him in this situation. In the middle of the third we finally tied the game with a long-distanced shot from Patrik Hersley. In 43 seconds Kaspars Daugavins scored on the powerplay to give the first lead of the night. With 9 seconds left to play Hanzl set the final score – 4:2.

Spartak clinched playoff position for the spring and will wait for the opponent.
