Spartak played two games against Sochi in orange jerseys that went to charity auction before the game. In this contest, our players wore black and red uniform that we use in retro game two seasons ago against Lokomotiv. It was a fan night; our supporters chose the jerseys, music, other activities and even more.

Spartak started really well, scoring in first minute of the game. Visitors decided not to sit back and quickly answered. However, on first intermission teams went with our lead. Alexander Khokhlachyov redirected the puck to the net after Evgeny Kulik’s blast, the puck left the net and KoKo added it again. Officials needed a review to determine at what time KoKo scored exactly. In addition, his first goal was counted as legal.

In the second frame, Spartak dominated on the ice, closing Sochi in their zone for lengthy spans of the time. Our expert Artyom Batrak said that at least it could be 5-1! But scoreboard showed us the same 2-1. Later Sochi returned to the game and created some problems for Julius Hudacek. With 10 minutes left, we got a powerplay chance that was successfully converted by Anatoly Nikontsev. For the second year in a row, Spartak will play in postseason. This year we decided not to wait too much and clinched with opportunity with five games left in our regular season schedule.
